About the event

In this class, you'll learn general segments of the of the distilling process

  • grain bill selection
  • grain milling
  • mashing
  • fermentation
  • maturation
  • and barrel aging.

We will also dissect and explain of the anatomy distilling equipment and the function of all the still components.

There is a science to distilling and we will cover essential terminology and definitions so you'll know your “hearts” from your “tails”, your “angel share” and devil’s cut” and how they apply to the ethanol—water equilibrium curve.

There are a variety of foundational spirit types and we will discuss the origin and differences between the distilling process for:

  • tequila
  • vodka
  • rum
  • whiskey
  • and gin.

And as a bonus you'll get to craft your own liqueur to take home such as:

  • limoncello
  • kahlua
  • frangelica
  • grand marnier
  • amaretto
  • cointreau
