Mike Adams and Rob Shomaker (of came up with the idea of celebrating and supporting the growing East Tennessee Craft Beer Community by planning a winter beer event. They quickly invited Dr. White and others to hold the first annual TWBF in Townsend, TN in 2012. 8 years later the Tennessee Winter Beer Fest has donated $125,000 to the Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center. To many brewers and even more attendees, the TWBF has become their most favorite beer event ever. Check out the next one.

Dr. White has been on the HH planning committee since 2009. This local beer event also supports the Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center. It is held each early May in the Great Smoky Mountains and is small and intimate and a beer and food-lovers’ delight.

June of 2015 saw this first annual event held in downtown Maryville, TN. Dr. White was asked to be on the original planning committee. This event supports local and regional craft beer and gather folks during Maryville’s Summer on Broadway week. (
